Yes. Wi-Fi Assist on iPhone can use cellular data when a connected Wi-Fi network performs poorly. Some Android phones offer a similar automatic switch. If EasyTripGo is selected for mobile data, that fallback can use your travel-plan allowance.
Understand when fallback happens
The phone may stay visually connected to weak Wi-Fi while routing some traffic through cellular data. This can make apps feel more reliable, but the change may be easy to miss during downloads, navigation or social-media use.
Confirm which SIM supplies cellular data
Open Mobile Data or SIM Manager and select EasyTripGo. Disable switching to the primary SIM so a weak Wi-Fi connection cannot lead to home-carrier data charges. See how to stop automatic SIM switching.
Control background consumption
Turn off Wi-Fi Assist or the manufacturer's mobile-data fallback option if you want strict control. Enable Low Data Mode or Data Saver, pause cloud backups and restrict large app updates to reliable Wi-Fi.
Monitor the remaining allowance
Check data usage in the phone settings and compare it with the plan information when available. If usage seems unusually fast, review why eSIM data may be consumed quickly. Turning off fallback saves data; deleting the eSIM is unnecessary.
