Travel data can disappear faster than expected when apps perform large downloads in the background. Video streaming, cloud-photo backups, system updates and hotspot use are the most common causes.
Check the correct usage total
Use the data-usage link in your EasyTripGo delivery email and enter the requested ICCID. This is the best place to check the plan’s remaining data. Your phone’s usage counter can still help identify the apps involved, but its measurement period may not match the eSIM plan period.
For detailed instructions, read how to check your remaining eSIM data.
Find high-usage apps
- iPhone: Settings > Cellular or Mobile Data, then review usage by app.
- Android: Settings > Network & internet or Connections > Data usage > Mobile data usage.
Reduce data use
- Pause cloud photo and video backups.
- Disable automatic app and operating-system updates on mobile data.
- Use lower video quality and turn off autoplay.
- Download maps, music and entertainment over Wi-Fi.
- Restrict background data for non-essential apps.
- Turn off Personal Hotspot or tethering when it is not needed.
- Check whether another device connected to your hotspot is downloading updates.
If the plan is exhausted
An exhausted plan cannot provide more data. Purchase a new EasyTripGo plan for the correct destination and travel dates. Do not delete the existing eSIM until you have confirmed the status of your service.
