About eSIMs

What is an eSIM?

An eSIM is a digital SIM that can be installed on a compatible device without inserting a physical SIM card. It lets you add a mobile data plan using a QR code, an installation link, or manual activation details.

How does an EasyTripGo eSIM work?

Choose a plan, complete your purchase, and follow the installation instructions delivered by email or shown in your website order details. At your destination, select the EasyTripGo eSIM for mobile data and enable data roaming when required.

Can I use an eSIM and my regular SIM at the same time?

Many compatible phones support Dual SIM. You can keep your regular SIM active for calls or messages while using an EasyTripGo eSIM for mobile data. Check your device specifications before purchase.

Are EasyTripGo eSIMs data-only?

Most plans are data-only. Some plans may include calls, SMS, or a local number. Included services are listed on each product page.

Is an eSIM safe to use?

eSIM technology uses a digital profile installed on your device and avoids handling a removable SIM card. Protect your QR code and activation details as you would a password, install profiles only from a trusted source, and never post the full code publicly.

Will installing an eSIM change my phone number?

Installing a data-only eSIM does not normally change the phone number on your primary SIM. You can keep your regular line for calls and messages while selecting the EasyTripGo eSIM for mobile data. Plans that include a separate number will state this on the product page.

Do I need to remove my physical SIM to use an eSIM?

No. On a compatible Dual SIM device, you can normally leave the physical SIM installed and add the eSIM as a second line. Select which line should handle mobile data, calls, and messages in your device settings.

Can one eSIM be used on multiple devices?

Generally, an eSIM profile is installed on one compatible device and cannot be shared between several devices. Transfer and reinstallation rules vary by plan, so contact support before deleting the profile or changing devices.

Does an eSIM work on a cruise ship or at sea?

An EasyTripGo eSIM connects through supported terrestrial mobile networks. It may work near a coastline or in port when a covered partner network is available, but it should not be expected to connect through a ship's maritime or satellite network unless the plan explicitly states this.

Does an eSIM work without Wi-Fi?

Wi-Fi or another internet connection is normally needed to download and install the eSIM profile. After installation and activation, the eSIM uses the supported mobile network and does not require Wi-Fi for ordinary mobile-data access.

What happens to unused data when my plan expires?

Unused data normally expires when the plan's validity period ends and does not roll over, unless the specific product states otherwise. Check the product page for its validity, renewal, and top-up rules.

How is a travel eSIM different from roaming or a local SIM?

A travel eSIM can be purchased and installed digitally before departure. Home-carrier roaming uses your existing mobile plan and may have different charges. A local physical SIM may provide local services but requires obtaining and inserting a card. Compare price, coverage, data, calls, validity, and convenience for your trip.

Device compatibility

How do I check whether my phone supports eSIM?

Check the exact device model and sales region. You can also look for Add eSIM, Add Cellular Plan, or a similar option in settings. The device must also be carrier-unlocked.

How do I check whether my iPhone is carrier-unlocked?

Go to Settings, General, About, and Carrier Lock. If it shows No SIM restrictions, the iPhone is generally unlocked. Menu names may vary by iOS version.

How do I check eSIM support on Android?

Open the mobile network or SIM settings and look for Add eSIM, Download a SIM, or Add mobile plan. Android menus vary, so also verify your exact model with its manufacturer.

Do Chinese-market phones support eSIM?

Many devices sold in mainland China have different eSIM capabilities from international versions. Verify the exact model number and sales region before purchasing.

Plans, coverage and networks

How do I choose the right eSIM plan?

Consider your destination, trip length, data needs, required features, and whether you will visit one or several countries. Review coverage, allowance, validity, network information, and the speed policy.

Should I choose a country, regional, or global eSIM?

Choose a country plan for one destination, a regional plan for several covered countries in one area, or a global plan for multiple regions. Always check the exact destination list.

Does the eSIM support 5G?

Some plans support 5G. Access depends on the plan, destination, local coverage, device, and network availability. Your device may use 4G or LTE where 5G is unavailable.

What does unlimited data mean?

Unlimited plans may be subject to a Fair Usage Policy. Speeds can be reduced after a specified amount of high-speed data is used. Check the product page for the exact policy.

Buying and delivery

How do I buy an EasyTripGo eSIM?

Choose your destination, select a data allowance and validity period, add the plan to your cart, and complete checkout with an available payment method.

How will I receive my eSIM?

Your eSIM is delivered electronically, normally by email or through your website order details. No physical SIM is shipped for an eSIM order.

How long does eSIM delivery take?

Orders are normally processed automatically after successful payment. Under the current delivery policy, digital delivery may take from one to 24 hours.

I did not receive my eSIM email. What should I do?

Check spam, junk, and promotions folders, verify the checkout email, and review your website order details. If it is still missing, email official@easytripgo.com.

Installation and activation

When should I install my eSIM?

Install shortly before departure while you have stable internet, unless the product instructions say installation immediately starts validity. Activation rules vary by plan.

Do I need Wi-Fi to install an eSIM?

A stable internet connection is normally required to download the eSIM profile. Wi-Fi is recommended during installation.

How do I install an eSIM using a QR code?

Open the QR code on another screen. In your mobile or cellular settings, choose Add eSIM and scan the code. Follow the on-screen instructions.

How do I activate the eSIM after arriving?

Enable the EasyTripGo line, select it for mobile data, and turn on data roaming if required. Keep data roaming disabled on your primary SIM to avoid unintended charges.

Using your eSIM

How do I use my regular SIM and eSIM together?

Keep your regular SIM selected for calls and messages and choose EasyTripGo for mobile data. Disable cellular-data switching if you do not want the phone to use your primary SIM automatically.

Should data roaming be turned on?

Travel eSIMs commonly require data roaming to connect to partner networks. Enable it for the EasyTripGo eSIM only, unless your plan says otherwise.

Can I share data using a hotspot?

Hotspot availability depends on the plan, partner network, and device. Check the product description. If supported but unavailable, verify the APN and hotspot settings.

Can I transfer an eSIM to another phone?

Transfer and reinstallation rules depend on the plan. Do not delete the eSIM unless the instructions confirm it can be reinstalled or transferred. Contact support before changing devices.

Connection and QR issues

Why does my QR code not work?

The code may already have been used, the device may be incompatible or locked, or the connection may be unstable. Check whether the eSIM is already installed before trying again.

Why does my eSIM show No Service?

Confirm you are in a covered destination, the line is enabled, data roaming is on, the correct data line is selected, and the device is using a supported network.

What is a PDP Authentication Failure?

This normally indicates an APN, network-session, validity, or data problem. Verify the APN exactly, confirm the plan is active, and reconnect to a supported network.

Why is my connection slow?

Speed can be affected by coverage, congestion, location, device capability, network selection, and Fair Usage limits. Try another location or supported network and check your high-speed allowance.

Payments, changes and refunds

Which payment methods are accepted?

Available payment methods are displayed at checkout and can vary by country, currency, browser, and device.

Can I change or cancel my plan after purchase?

Contact support immediately. Eligibility depends on whether the eSIM has already been delivered, installed, activated, or used.

Can I receive a refund?

Refund eligibility depends on the current refund policy and whether the eSIM has been delivered, installed, activated, or used. Contact support with your order number and issue details.

What information should I send to support?

Include your order number, purchase email, destination, device model, screenshots, and troubleshooting steps. Never share a full QR code or activation code publicly.

eSIM glossary

What is an APN?

An Access Point Name is a network setting used to establish a mobile-data connection. Some eSIMs configure it automatically; others require manual entry.

What is data roaming?

Data roaming allows a SIM or eSIM to connect through partner networks outside its home network. Travel eSIMs commonly require this setting.

What is a local IP eSIM?

A local IP eSIM uses an IP address associated with the destination or a local routing arrangement. Availability and behavior depend on the plan.

What is a Fair Usage Policy?

A Fair Usage Policy defines how speed or usage may change after a specified amount of data has been consumed.
