Quick answer
Install your EasyTripGo Vietnam eSIM on stable Wi-Fi, keep the profile on the phone, select it for mobile data and enable Data Roaming after arrival. Hotspot is supported, but every connected device shares the same allowance and daily fair-use limit.
Before you install
- Confirm that the exact phone model and regional version support eSIM.
- Make sure the phone is carrier-unlocked.
- Connect to reliable Wi-Fi and keep the delivery email available on another screen.
- Check the selected plan duration and activation deadline.
- Do not share the QR code publicly.
Service days begin when the eSIM is installed. Install close enough to departure that the selected 3–30-day duration covers your final day in Vietnam. Turning the eSIM off does not pause the plan.
Install the Vietnam eSIM
On iPhone
- Open Settings > Cellular or Mobile Data.
- Tap Add eSIM, then Use QR Code.
- Scan the EasyTripGo QR code and complete the prompts.
- Label the new line “EasyTripGo Vietnam.”
On Android
- Open Settings and find SIM Manager, Network & internet or Connections.
- Choose Add eSIM or Download a SIM.
- Scan the QR code and accept the installation.
- Names vary by phone brand and Android version.
Do not scan repeatedly if an error appears. Contact support before deleting the profile or attempting installation on another phone.
Connect after arriving in Vietnam
- Turn off Airplane Mode.
- Switch on the EasyTripGo Vietnam line.
- Select it as the mobile-data SIM.
- Enable Data Roaming on the EasyTripGo line.
- Disable cellular-data switching to your home SIM.
- Keep roaming off on the home SIM to reduce accidental charges.
- Wait several minutes, then test with Wi-Fi off.
If automatic network selection fails on the roaming product, manually try Viettel, MobiFone or Vinaphone. The local product uses Vinaphone. See the local vs roaming comparison.
How to use hotspot
Open Personal Hotspot, Mobile Hotspot or Tethering in phone settings, create a strong password and connect the second device. Hotspot data comes from the Vietnam eSIM only when that eSIM is selected for mobile data.
A fixed-data plan shares one total allowance across all devices. Daily Unlimited provides 1GB of high-speed data for the plan each day, not 1GB per connected device, followed by data at up to 5Mbps until the reset. Laptop updates, cloud backups and video calls can consume data quickly.
Recommended hotspot precautions
- Pause system and app updates on the laptop.
- Disable automatic cloud photo and file backup.
- Use standard-definition video where practical.
- Disconnect devices when they are not needed.
- Monitor mobile-data usage in the phone settings.
Troubleshooting checklist
If the eSIM is installed but has no internet, confirm the correct data line, Data Roaming and APN instructions. Toggle Airplane Mode for 15–30 seconds, restart the phone and test again with Wi-Fi disabled. Check coverage expectations if you are in a remote area.
Never delete the eSIM as a first troubleshooting step. If the allowance is exhausted, purchase a new Vietnam plan rather than assuming the existing profile can be extended.
Frequently asked questions
Can I install before flying?
Yes, if the remaining service duration still covers your trip. Because days begin at installation, do not install too early.
Can I receive normal calls and SMS?
No. These are data-only plans without a Vietnamese phone number. Internet calling and messaging apps can use the data connection.
Does hotspot work on both Vietnam products?
Hotspot is supported, subject to phone capability and settings. All devices share the same plan.
