Yes. Installing a data-only travel eSIM does not normally change the phone number registered to your existing WhatsApp account. EasyTripGo supplies mobile data, and WhatsApp continues using the account you already have.
Recommended setup
- Do not choose Change Number in WhatsApp.
- Keep your WhatsApp account registered to your usual number.
- Select EasyTripGo as the mobile-data line.
- Open WhatsApp normally and continue messaging over the travel eSIM.
Do you need to keep the home SIM active?
For ordinary use on the same phone, WhatsApp can continue working over EasyTripGo data. However, keeping access to your registered number is important if WhatsApp asks you to verify the account again, if you reinstall the app, or if you move to a new phone.
If WhatsApp asks for a verification code
The code is sent to the number registered with WhatsApp, not to a data-only EasyTripGo eSIM. Keep the primary line enabled with roaming service or use another verification method offered by WhatsApp. Your home carrier's roaming terms may apply.
If WhatsApp alone does not connect
Check that the app is allowed to use mobile data and roaming. See Only Some Apps Work on Your eSIM?. Also disable VPN or Private DNS temporarily if other websites work.
