What Happens to My eSIM After a Factory Reset?

What happens to an eSIM after a factory reset

A factory reset can erase your eSIM profile. Some phones show an option to keep eSIMs while deleting other data, but the wording and behaviour vary by device. Never assume that a backup will restore an eSIM activation.

Do not factory-reset the phone just to fix connectivity

Most travel eSIM issues are caused by the selected data SIM, data roaming, APN or network selection. A reset is rarely necessary and can turn a settings problem into a deleted-eSIM problem.

Before a reset, repair or trade-in

  • Back up your personal data using the phone manufacturer’s official instructions.
  • Keep your EasyTripGo delivery email and order number.
  • Record the EasyTripGo eSIM ICCID if accessible.
  • Read every reset prompt carefully and choose to keep eSIMs if that option is available and appropriate.
  • Contact EasyTripGo Support before resetting if the eSIM is still needed.

If the eSIM was erased

Do not assume that the original QR code can be scanned again. Many eSIM activation codes are intended for one installation. Repeated attempts can produce “code already used” or similar errors.

  1. Confirm that the EasyTripGo profile is no longer listed in SIM settings.
  2. Do not purchase or install random replacement profiles.
  3. Contact support with your order number, destination and phone model.
  4. EasyTripGo Support will check the order and, when possible, provide the appropriate replacement solution or QR code.
