An “Activation Failed,” “Unable to Activate eSIM” or similar message can appear when the phone cannot download or finish registering the eSIM. Do not immediately scan the QR code again.
First check whether the eSIM is already installed
Open Settings > Cellular or Mobile Data on iPhone, or SIM manager / Network & internet > SIMs on Android. Look for a new line, EasyTripGo, Travel, Secondary or a partner-network name.
- If the profile is listed, do not scan the QR code again.
- Turn the line off for 30 seconds and turn it back on.
- Select it for mobile data and enable data roaming.
- If it is not listed, continue with the checks below.
Check the installation requirements
- Connect to stable Wi-Fi.
- Turn off VPN, proxy and Private DNS temporarily.
- Confirm the phone supports eSIM and is carrier-unlocked.
- Use the QR code from the correct order.
- Make sure the phone date and time are set automatically.
Refresh the phone
- Turn airplane mode on for 30 seconds, then off.
- Restart the phone.
- Check for a phone software or carrier-settings update.
- Try the installation once more only if no EasyTripGo profile was added.
If the message appears before arrival
Some eSIMs can be installed before travel but cannot fully connect until the phone reaches a covered destination. If the profile is already installed, leave it in place and complete the network setup after arrival.
If the QR code was already used
Many activation codes are intended for one installation. Stop repeated scans and read what “activation code already used” means. If needed, support can check the order and determine the appropriate replacement solution.
