French Polynesia eSIM Installation and Hotspot Guide

Traveler using a phone and laptop in French Polynesia for the setup guide

Set up your EasyTripGo French Polynesia eSIM before you depend on it for airport transfers or hotel directions. The plan is data-only and connects through Onati with 4G, 3G and LTE where available. Save the installation email and support details offline so they remain accessible if you cannot connect immediately after landing.

Check your phone first

Your device must support eSIM and be unlocked from its original carrier. If the phone has two SIM lines, give them clear labels such as “Primary” and “EasyTripGo” so you can select the correct one after arrival.

Install on stable Wi-Fi

Open the eSIM installation details in your delivery email and follow the instructions for iPhone or Android. Use stable Wi-Fi and avoid scanning a QR code displayed on the same phone unless you can enter the installation details manually. Follow the activation timing stated in the delivery email. Do not delete the eSIM after installation.

Select the EasyTripGo data line

After arriving in French Polynesia, open the mobile or cellular settings and turn on the EasyTripGo eSIM. Select it as the line for mobile data. On dual-SIM phones, disable automatic mobile-data switching if it could use your home SIM and create roaming charges.

Enable data roaming

Turn on data roaming for the EasyTripGo eSIM. This setting is normally required because the travel eSIM connects through a partner network. You can keep data roaming disabled on your primary SIM. Toggle airplane mode for about 30 seconds or restart the phone if the connection does not appear immediately.

Use personal hotspot

Hotspot or tethering can work on compatible devices and plans. Select the EasyTripGo eSIM for mobile data before enabling hotspot, then connect your laptop or tablet. Hotspot activity can consume data quickly, especially for video calls, system updates and cloud backups. Disable automatic updates or choose a larger allowance if you plan to work remotely.

Troubleshooting checklist

Confirm that the eSIM is enabled, selected for data and has data roaming turned on. Follow any APN or network-selection instructions in the delivery email. Move outdoors if the signal is weak and review the coverage guide. Never delete the profile during troubleshooting.

Choose and compare plans

Review the 7, 15 and 30-day data guide, the eSIM comparison and the complete buying guide. If your allowance runs out, buy a new plan rather than assuming it can be topped up.
