Africa eSIM Coverage Guide: Destinations and Network Differences

Coastal mountains and ocean near Cape Town in South Africa

EasyTripGo's Africa eSIM products cover different destination sets, not progressively larger versions of the same list. Use the table below to check every destination on your itinerary before selecting a plan. The 29-destination option has the largest list, but it omits Cameroon, Seychelles and Zimbabwe.

Coverage lists were checked on September 3, 2026. “Included” means listed for that product, not guaranteed reception everywhere within the destination. “Not listed” means you should not rely on that product there without further confirmation. The table uses destinations because the lists include Réunion.

The differences that can change your choice

  • Cameroon: only the 15-destination plan lists it.
  • Seychelles and Zimbabwe: only the 21-destination plan lists them.
  • South Africa: listed on the 15- and 29-destination plans, not the 21-destination plan.
  • Botswana, Ethiopia and Senegal: listed on the 29-destination plan, not the other two.
  • The two Congos: the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Republic of the Congo are separate destinations. The 21-destination plan lists the former; the 29-destination plan lists both.

Network partners can differ in the same country

Two plans listing the same destination may use different partner networks. The following names are those currently shown in the 15- and 21-destination product descriptions. They are not a guarantee of connection at a specific address or permission to select every local operator.

Destination 15-destination plan: listed network 21-destination plan: listed network
Kenya Safaricom Airtel Kenya
Egypt Orange Vodafone Egypt
Algeria Mobilis Djezzy
Nigeria MTN Airtel Nigeria

The updated 29-destination description does not provide a destination-by-destination operator list. Do not assume it uses the partners listed for either of the other products. If a particular network matters, ask EasyTripGo support to confirm that destination before buying.

Country inclusion is not a coverage map

Available technology and performance depend on the selected plan, local network, exact location, compatible device, terrain, buildings and congestion. Do not treat destination inclusion as a promise of 5G, uninterrupted service or reception throughout remote areas.

Check your accommodation and key stops when reliable data is essential, and keep important directions and bookings available offline. A travel eSIM is not a substitute for an appropriate emergency communication plan in remote locations.

Plan rules to know before buying

  • Unlimited: 1GB of high-speed data per day, then unlimited data at up to 5Mbps. The high-speed allowance resets daily. This is not unlimited full-speed data.
  • Installation window: install within 90 days of purchase.
  • Validity: the selected plan duration starts at installation, not on arrival or first data use.
  • Hotspot: supported on compatible devices; connected devices share the same plan allowance.
  • Service: data only, with no phone number or included conventional calls and SMS.

Using the same eSIM across borders

You can continue with the same selected regional eSIM in its included destinations while your plan remains valid. Network registration may take time after arrival. The trip duration does not restart, and moving to another country does not provide another daily high-speed allowance. Time continues to pass even outside the coverage list.
