Estimate usage with a simple budget
Check your phone's recent mobile-data usage before choosing. Include navigation, messaging, uploads and any laptop traffic. Video resolution, autoplay, cloud backups and software updates can change consumption considerably. The examples below are hypothetical budgets, not measured app-consumption averages.

Add a margin for a delayed departure, a longer day away from Wi-Fi or extra photo sharing. Do not count on free Wi-Fi being convenient whenever you need it. A small allowance is more workable if you actively postpone large uploads until a reliable Wi-Fi connection is available.
A sightseeing day is not the same as a work day
For a day around Marina Bay or Gardens by the Bay, you may want directions, tickets and messaging ready on the phone. Save tickets and booking details in advance so access does not depend entirely on a live connection. For a work day, add your laptop's traffic to the budget. Hotspot sharing does not create a second allocation. Why a daily reset is not a pooled allowance
Suppose one day uses 0.2GB and the next uses 2GB. Under daily Unlimited, the second day reaches the 1GB high-speed threshold even though the previous day was light. Do not assume the unused first-day allowance carries forward. With fixed total data, the amount remaining across the plan matters instead.
After the Unlimited threshold, speeds are up to 5Mbps until the daily reset. That may change how uploads, streaming and multiple-device sharing feel. Check whether five days covers your installation timing
The plan starts at installation. If you scan and install before a long flight, the service is already running before you arrive. A five-night trip or a trip touching five calendar dates should not automatically be treated as fitting a five-day plan. Check the intended installation and last-use times, then select a longer duration when needed.
You have 90 days after purchase to activate. That deadline is separate from the selected service period. Buying early and installing early are different decisions; you can prepare the instructions without starting installation.
