Installing an eSIM adds the profile to your phone, but you must also select it for mobile data and enable the correct settings. Completing the process on stable Wi-Fi before leaving for remote areas makes troubleshooting much easier.
Before installation
Confirm that the phone supports eSIM and is carrier-unlocked. Keep the order email available on another screen if possible, then follow the supplied installation details. Give the profile a clear name such as “EasyTripGo Timor-Leste.” Do not delete it after installation.
The Timor-Leste eSIM uses Telemor and can provide 5G where available, plus 4G and LTE. Fixed-data packages range from 3GB to 50GB with 3–30 day validity.
Select the correct data line
Open the SIM or cellular settings, enable the travel eSIM and choose it for mobile data. Turn on data roaming for the travel profile. If your regular SIM remains enabled, verify that it is not selected for data and review its roaming settings.
Connect after arrival
Keep network selection on automatic and wait several minutes in an open area. If mobile data does not start, turn airplane mode on for 30 seconds and then off. Restart the phone if necessary. Test with Wi-Fi disabled by opening a new webpage.
Do not delete the eSIM while troubleshooting. Original installation details may not support another installation, and deleting the profile can make recovery more difficult.
Menu names vary by manufacturer. On an iPhone, look under Cellular or Mobile Service; on Android, look under SIM manager, Mobile network or Connections. The important result is the same: the Timor-Leste profile must be switched on, selected for data and allowed to use roaming.
Using a personal hotspot
If your device and plan permit tethering, open the hotspot settings and connect the second device using the displayed password. Hotspot traffic uses the same data allowance. Video calls, large downloads and cloud backups can consume it quickly, so monitor usage and disable automatic updates.
Hotspot performance depends on the phone’s cellular connection. In mountainous or rural areas, weak mobile coverage will also affect connected laptops and tablets.
Protect the hotspot with a password and disconnect unused devices. If a laptop has no internet, confirm the phone can open a webpage over mobile data. Then reconnect it and pause large downloads.
