Installing a Mauritius eSIM is not the same as waiting until arrival to start the plan. For this product, the validity period begins at installation. Choose the timing deliberately, then set your phone to use the correct line for mobile data.
Before installing the profile
Check that your exact phone model supports eSIM and is not locked to another carrier. Keep your order email and setup instructions accessible. Use a reliable internet connection to download the profile and follow the installation method provided with your order.
The EasyTripGo Mauritius eSIM must be installed within 90 days of purchase. You can install before departure, but the time before your holiday counts toward the selected duration. Purchasing ahead does not mean you must install immediately.
Select your mobile-data line
Use your phone's add-eSIM process and give the new line a clear label such as Mauritius Travel. Menu names vary by device and software version. When you need service in Mauritius, select this line for mobile data and apply any settings specified in the supplied instructions.
Do not guess APN values or copy unrelated settings from another plan. Check whether your phone can switch mobile data back to your home line automatically, and adjust that setting if you want to prevent unintended home-line usage. Your home carrier's charges still apply to activity on that line.
Test before leaving your accommodation
Once connected, load a small page or send a message. Save the next meeting point and accommodation address while service is available. EMTEL is the listed network, but reception and actual speeds vary by location and device. The product does not promise a particular network generation.
Share data using hotspot
Hotspot and tethering are supported. Enable the phone's hotspot after mobile data is working, set a strong password and connect your laptop or other device. Connected devices use the same plan allowance; hotspot does not create an additional high-speed quota.
For daily Unlimited, you receive 1GB of high-speed data per day, followed by unlimited data at up to 5Mbps. The quota resets daily, but the precise reset hour is not specified here. Limit automatic updates and cloud backups so they do not consume data unexpectedly.
For fixed data, watch total usage across all connected devices. If you are sharing with a companion, remember that their connection depends on remaining within range of your phone. Keep essential addresses on both devices before separating.
Calls and verification messages
This is a data-only eSIM with no telephone number, traditional calls or SMS. Existing messaging accounts can use the internet connection, but it cannot receive a verification SMS on a new local number. Arrange a suitable contact method with your hotel or activity provider in advance.
If mobile data is not working
Check the selected data line, remaining validity and settings in your instructions. Where practical, test in a better-covered location. Do not delete the profile as your first troubleshooting step; removing it does not pause the validity clock.
