Choose the right installation moment

You must install within 90 days of purchase. For a flight-based holiday, you can install before departure, but allow for the time spent travelling before arrival. For a cruise with a later Dominican port call, check that the plan will still be valid on that date.

A seven-night booking is not necessarily seven days from installation to your last airport transfer. Use the expiry details supplied for your plan and select enough time for the whole period you need. Turning the eSIM off does not restart its duration.

Prepare before you begin

Install and connect

  3. Give the line a clear label, such as “Dominican data”.
  4. When using it at your destination, enable the line and choose it for mobile data.
  5. Apply the supplied roaming and APN instructions. Do not copy settings from an unrelated plan.
  6. Disable automatic data switching to the home line and test a small web page.

Share data at the hotel or during a transfer

Hotspot is supported. Enable your phone's Personal Hotspot or Wi-Fi hotspot setting, choose a strong password and connect your other device. Keep the host phone charged and turn hotspot off when it is no longer needed.

All connected devices use the same allowance. On Unlimited, they share 1GB high-speed data daily, then unlimited data at up to 5Mbps until the daily reset. Pause laptop updates, automatic photo backups and large downloads. A second device does not receive an additional 1GB.

If you see signal but cannot load a page

Check that the travel eSIM—not the home line—is selected for data. Confirm that installation completed and the plan has not expired or, for fixed data, exhausted its allowance. Review the supplied roaming and APN settings, then briefly toggle airplane mode or restart the phone.

Test in another nearby location where it is appropriate to do so. Altice reception can vary inside hotel rooms and other buildings. Strong signal bars do not guarantee high speed, and the Unlimited daily threshold can also explain slower performance. Up to 5Mbps is a cap, not a guaranteed minimum.

Get help without deleting the profile

Do not share the installation QR code publicly. If more data or time is needed, ask about purchasing a suitable new plan.

This is a data-only service with no phone number or traditional calls and SMS. Keeping your home line enabled may still lead to charges under its own terms. Check those terms separately if you need ordinary calls or number-based messages during the trip.
