Balkans eSIM Installation and Hotspot Guide

Traveler using a phone and laptop in Mostar for the Balkans eSIM setup guide

Quick answer

Install the Balkans eSIM on stable Wi-Fi, keep it on the original phone, choose it as the mobile-data line and enable Data Roaming if instructed. One installed profile can connect across the 11 supported destinations, but registration may take several minutes after each border crossing.

Before installation

  • Confirm the exact phone model and regional version support eSIM.
  • Make sure the device is carrier-unlocked.
  • Connect to dependable Wi-Fi.
  • Open the QR email on another screen.
  • Review the chosen duration and installation deadline.

Service days begin when installation completes. Install close enough to departure for the selected duration to cover the last day. Turning the line off does not pause it. Installation is normally required within 90 days of purchase.

Install on iPhone

  1. Open Settings > Cellular or Mobile Data.
  2. Tap Add eSIM, then Use QR Code.
  3. Scan the EasyTripGo code and complete the prompts.
  4. Label the new line “EasyTripGo Balkans.”

Install on Android

  1. Open Settings and find SIM Manager, Connections or Network & internet.
  2. Choose Add eSIM or Download a SIM.
  3. Scan the QR code and approve installation.
  4. Give the profile a clear label.

Menu wording varies by brand and system version. Do not share the QR code, scan it on the wrong phone or delete the eSIM after an error. Contact support first.

Connect in the first country

  1. Turn on the EasyTripGo line.
  2. Select it as the data SIM. On dual-SIM phones, confirm the home line is not still selected for mobile data.
  3. Enable Data Roaming for EasyTripGo if instructed.
  4. Keep automatic network selection on initially.
  5. Turn off Wi-Fi and test a webpage.
  6. If necessary, use Airplane Mode for 15–30 seconds or restart.

Reconnect after crossing a border

Keep the eSIM installed. Wait several minutes after entering another supported country. If automatic registration fails, use Airplane Mode, restart the device, or manually select one of the partners shown in the Balkans network guide.

Use Personal Hotspot

On iPhone, open Settings > Personal Hotspot. On Android, search Settings for Hotspot, Tethering or Mobile Hotspot. Set a strong password and switch hotspot off when finished.

All connected devices share the same allowance. Pause laptop updates, cloud backup and automatic photo uploads. Unlimited options normally provide 1GB high-speed data per day before continued use at up to 5Mbps until reset.

Troubleshooting checklist

Problem Check first
No data Correct data SIM, line enabled and roaming setting
No service after border Wait, Airplane Mode and automatic network selection
Cannot install Wi-Fi, compatibility, carrier lock and QR usage
Hotspot device offline Phone connection, password and remaining allowance

Never delete the eSIM as the first troubleshooting step. If fixed data is exhausted, purchase a new Balkans eSIM plan; do not assume the installed plan supports top-up.

Frequently asked questions

Can I move the eSIM to another phone?

Do not assume it is transferable. Contact support before changing devices or deleting it.

Can my normal SIM remain active?

Yes on compatible dual-SIM phones. Use EasyTripGo for data and disable home-carrier roaming to reduce charge risk.

Does the eSIM include a phone number?

No. It is data-only, but internet calling and messaging apps can use the connection.
