Mobile Data Keeps Switching to My Primary SIM: How to Stop It

How to stop mobile data switching to the primary SIM

Dual-SIM phones can automatically switch mobile data to another line when one connection becomes weak. While travelling, this may cause the phone to use your home SIM and create carrier roaming charges.

iPhone

  1. Open Settings > Cellular or Mobile Data.
  2. Tap Cellular Data.
  3. Select the EasyTripGo eSIM.
  4. Turn off Allow Cellular Data Switching.
  5. Open your primary line and confirm that Data Roaming is off.

Samsung Galaxy

  1. Open Settings > Connections > SIM manager.
  2. Under Mobile data, select EasyTripGo.
  3. Turn off Data switching, Auto data switching or a similarly named option if shown.
  4. Open your primary SIM settings and disable data roaming.

Google Pixel and other Android phones

  1. Open Settings > Network & internet > SIMs.
  2. Set EasyTripGo as the preferred SIM for mobile data.
  3. Disable Switch mobile data automatically or the equivalent option.
  4. Keep data roaming off on the primary SIM.

Names and locations vary by manufacturer and software version. Return to the SIM settings after restarting the phone and confirm that EasyTripGo is still selected.
