Phone Lost or Stolen While Traveling With an eSIM: What to Do

What to do when a phone with a travel eSIM is lost or stolen

If your phone is lost or stolen abroad, focus first on the device and your important accounts. The eSIM is only one part of the response. Use official recovery tools and act from another trusted device.

Locate and mark the phone as lost

Use Apple Find My or Google Find Hub to locate, lock or mark the phone as lost. Add a safe callback message if the service allows it. Do not travel to an unsafe location to recover the device yourself.

Protect important accounts

Change passwords for email, banking and other high-value accounts if compromise is possible. Review active sessions and sign out the missing device. Use saved backup codes or another trusted recovery method; our OTP travel guide can help you plan this before departure.

Contact your mobile providers

Ask your home carrier to protect or suspend the primary line, especially if it receives SMS verification codes. Contact EasyTripGo with your order number and ICCID if available. See how to find and record device identifiers before travel.

Consider remote erase carefully

Remote erase can protect personal data when recovery is unlikely, but it is destructive and may prevent later location tracking. Follow the device maker's official instructions. If you obtain a replacement phone, do not assume the old QR code can be reused; read our single-use activation guide and contact support first.

If you still need help, contact EasyTripGo Support or message us on WhatsApp. Please include your order number, destination, phone model and screenshots of the relevant settings.
