An EasyTripGo data-only travel eSIM is not a standard voice-calling service and should not be relied on to place emergency calls. It provides mobile internet where the plan has coverage, but it normally does not include a telephone number, carrier voice calls, or SMS.
Why internet calling is not enough
Messaging and internet-calling apps may work when mobile data is active, but they depend on a working data connection and may not connect directly to local emergency services. Coverage, congestion, app availability, account access, or a flat battery can also prevent them from working.
Prepare a voice-capable option
- Keep a voice-capable primary SIM enabled if you may need normal calls.
- Check your home carrier's international calling and roaming charges.
- Consider a local voice SIM where appropriate.
- Save the correct emergency number for each destination.
- Learn how your phone's built-in Emergency SOS features work before departure.
Emergency-call availability can vary by device, country, local regulation, network coverage, and whether a compatible cellular network is reachable. Do not make a test call to an emergency number.
If you are on a ship or aircraft
Follow crew instructions and use the vessel's or aircraft's emergency procedures. A terrestrial travel eSIM may have no connection offshore or in the air. Ask crew, airport staff, hotel staff, police, or another nearby person for immediate assistance when needed.
Keep your primary SIM without using its data
On many dual-SIM phones, you can keep your primary line available for calls or SMS while selecting EasyTripGo only for mobile data. Disable data roaming on the primary line and turn off automatic cellular data switching to reduce the risk of unexpected charges. See whether to keep your primary SIM on and why calls and texts do not work on a data-only eSIM.
If your situation is an active emergency, contact the appropriate local emergency service or seek immediate local help. For non-emergency questions about your EasyTripGo plan, email official@easytripgo.com or use WhatsApp.
