Data-saving features can help a travel plan last longer, but they can also pause background activity, delay notifications, reduce streaming quality, and limit automatic downloads or backups. If some apps behave differently on your eSIM, review these settings.
On iPhone
- Open Settings.
- Tap Cellular or Mobile Data.
- Select the EasyTripGo line or its data options.
- Find Low Data Mode and review whether it is enabled.
The exact path can vary by iOS version and network type. Low Data Mode can reduce background network use, automatic updates, backups, photo syncing, and streaming quality.
On Android
- Open Settings.
- Go to Network & Internet, Connections, Mobile Network, or Data Usage.
- Open Data Saver.
- Temporarily turn it off for testing, or allow unrestricted data for important apps.
Android menu names differ between Samsung, Google Pixel, Xiaomi, and other brands. Battery optimization may also restrict the same app, so review both settings if alerts remain delayed.
Should you turn data saving off?
Turn it off temporarily when an essential app will not refresh, notifications are delayed, cloud content will not sync, or navigation data is incomplete. Once the problem is identified, you can turn it back on or allow only selected apps.
Disabling data-saving features can increase consumption. Monitor the phone's data counter and the usage information supplied with your plan. If your plan data is exhausted, purchase a new plan rather than deleting the eSIM.
If only certain apps fail
Confirm that each affected app has permission to use mobile and background data. Our app-specific eSIM troubleshooting guide and data usage guide provide the next checks.
