USA, Canada and Mexico eSIM Installation and Hotspot Guide

USA Canada Mexico eSIM installation and hotspot guide

Correct setup helps your USA, Canada and Mexico eSIM connect when you arrive and continue working after border crossings. Install it while connected to stable Wi-Fi and follow the activation instructions provided with the order. Menu names vary by phone brand and software version, but the essential settings are similar.

Check compatibility before installation

Your phone must support eSIM and be carrier-unlocked. Keep the QR code or manual activation details open on another device, or print them. If the code is displayed on the same phone, use an import-from-photo feature only when your device supports it.

Install and label the travel line

On iPhone, open Settings, Cellular or Mobile Service, then Add eSIM. On Android, look under Network & Internet, Connections or SIM Manager, then choose Add eSIM. Scan the supplied code and label the new profile “EasyTripGo” so it is easy to recognize.

Select EasyTripGo for mobile data

Choose the EasyTripGo eSIM as the mobile-data line. Turn off cellular-data switching to prevent the home SIM from taking over and creating roaming charges. Enable data roaming for EasyTripGo because the travel profile connects through local partner networks. Your primary line can remain active for calls and messages, but its data roaming should stay off.

Crossing between countries

Leave network selection on automatic unless support provides another instruction. After crossing a border, the phone may need several minutes to register on the next partner. Toggle airplane mode for about 30 seconds if it does not reconnect. Restarting the phone can also refresh network registration.

Using a personal hotspot

If hotspot sharing is supported by your device and plan, open Personal Hotspot or Mobile Hotspot and connect a laptop or tablet using a password. Fixed allowances can be consumed quickly by laptop updates, cloud synchronization and video streaming. Mark the connection as metered and pause backups.

If data does not work

Confirm that the eSIM is enabled, selected for mobile data and allowed to roam. Check any APN details included with the order. Do not delete the profile as a troubleshooting step because many travel eSIMs cannot be installed twice.
