You can usually keep using iMessage and FaceTime with your normal phone number while EasyTripGo supplies mobile data. The home line should remain enabled and correctly selected in Apple's messaging settings.
Recommended setup
- Keep your primary line turned on.
- Select EasyTripGo as the cellular-data line.
- Disable data roaming and cellular-data switching on the primary line.
- Enable data roaming on EasyTripGo.
Check iMessage
Open Settings → Apps → Messages → Send & Receive. On some iOS versions, the path is Settings → Messages → Send & Receive. Confirm that your usual number or Apple Account email is selected for receiving and starting conversations.
Check FaceTime
Open Settings → Apps → FaceTime, or Settings → FaceTime on older iOS versions. Confirm the addresses and caller ID you want to use.
If your number is not available
- Confirm the primary line is enabled and has network service.
- Restart the iPhone.
- Make sure iMessage and FaceTime are turned on.
- Wait for activation to complete; carrier SMS may be required.
- Check your home carrier's international SMS and roaming policy.
Turning off data roaming on the home line helps prevent data charges, but calls, SMS, or activation messages may still be billed by the carrier. See How to Avoid Roaming Charges on Your Primary SIM.
