Morocco eSIM Installation & Hotspot Guide: When to Install and How to Connect

Install your EasyTripGo Morocco eSIM when you are ready for the purchased service period to start. Installation starts the countdown; it does not wait until you arrive in Morocco or first connect to a local network. Both the Orange Morocco and Maroc Telecom options are data-only and support hotspot.

This guide covers preparation, installation timing, data-line settings and sharing your connection. Menu names differ by phone and software version, so use the instructions delivered with your order for the final setup details.

Understand the Two Different Time Limits

Important: EasyTripGo Morocco eSIM plans start counting from installation, not from your first connection in Morocco. The 90-day activation window after purchase is separate from your selected plan duration. Install when you are ready for that duration to begin.

A seven-day plan does not become a 90-day plan because you have a 90-day activation window. Likewise, installing before departure consumes part of the purchased duration before arrival. Buying in advance can help you prepare, but decide separately when to install.

The daily fair-use reset is another separate concept: it restores that day's high-speed allowance on unlimited plans. It does not restart or extend the overall plan duration.

Before Installation

  • Confirm that your exact phone model and regional version support eSIM.
  • Confirm that the phone is unlocked for use with another provider.
  • Have a stable existing internet connection for downloading the eSIM profile.
  • Keep your order email and installation instructions available.
  • Check that the network option, data amount and duration match what you intended to buy.
  • Choose an installation time that leaves enough service duration for your trip.

For iPhone preparation, consult Apple's eSIM setup instructions. Device compatibility and the ability to keep two lines active vary by model.

Installation and Connection Checklist

  1. Connect to the internet. Downloading a new profile needs an existing connection; buying an eSIM alone does not give an unconfigured phone access.
  2. Open the supplied instructions. Use the QR code or installation method provided for your order.
  3. Add the eSIM on your phone. Proceed only when ready for the selected duration to start.
  4. Label the line clearly. A name such as “Morocco Data” helps distinguish it from your home SIM.
  5. Select it for mobile data. Check which line is providing data before opening apps.
  6. Apply the supplied roaming and APN settings. Do not guess an APN or copy one from an unrelated plan.
  7. Test the connection where service is available. Open a small webpage before starting larger downloads or sharing data.

If using a home line alongside the travel eSIM, review automatic data switching and home-line roaming settings. The Morocco data plan does not prevent your home operator from charging for services used on its line.

How to Share Data by Hotspot

First confirm that the host phone itself can browse using the Morocco eSIM. Then open its hotspot or tethering settings, enable sharing and set a strong password. Connect your second device to that hotspot and test a small webpage.

Hotspot traffic uses the same plan allowance as the phone. Connected devices do not receive their own separate 1GB daily high-speed quota. Watch for laptop operating-system updates, video autoplay and cloud backups before starting a long tethering session.

Unlimited means 1GB of high-speed data per day, followed by unlimited data at up to 5Mbps. The high-speed allowance resets daily. This is not unlimited full-speed data. Actual speeds depend on signal, congestion and your device; 5Mbps is a limit, not a guaranteed minimum. Check the supplied instructions or ask support for the exact reset time rather than assuming midnight in your phone's time zone.

Reduced-speed connectivity should not be treated as a guarantee of smooth video meetings or large uploads. Application requirements and actual connection quality vary. For important work, arrange a second connectivity option and test it in advance.

Troubleshooting Without Deleting Your eSIM

Problem First checks
Profile will not download Check internet access, device compatibility and the supplied installation method
Installed but no data Check the selected data line, plan status, supplied settings and local coverage
Data became slower Check daily high-speed usage, signal conditions and background downloads
Phone works but hotspot does not Check hotspot settings, password and the connected device; reconnect and retry
Order email is missing Check spam and the checkout email address; contact support before buying again

Do not delete the eSIM as your first troubleshooting step: reinstalling may require assistance or a replacement profile. contact EasyTripGo on WhatsApp with your order reference and a description of the problem. Do not post your QR code or installation credentials publicly.
