Keep three timing rules separate

Install and select the correct data line
- Connect the phone to a reliable internet connection.

- Complete the prompts. Remember that installation starts the plan duration.
- Label the new line clearly, such as “Malaysia Travel,” so it is easy to distinguish from your home line.
- When you need the service in Malaysia, enable the eSIM and select it for mobile data. Enable data roaming on this travel line as instructed in the order details.
- Disable data roaming on your home line and turn off unwanted automatic data switching. Test a simple webpage with Wi-Fi temporarily off.
The supported networks are Digi, Maxis and Celcom. Leave network selection on automatic initially unless your order instructions say otherwise. 5G is conditional on device, service and local availability; the connection may use 4G/LTE.
Keep your home number without confusing the data lines
If the phone supports the necessary dual-SIM configuration, you may keep a home line active for your existing number while choosing the Malaysia eSIM for data. The travel eSIM does not take over that number. Check home-carrier charges for voice, SMS and Wi-Fi calling separately; switching off home-line data roaming does not settle all those charges.
How to share data through hotspot
- Confirm the Malaysia eSIM can load a webpage on the host phone without Wi-Fi.
- Open Personal Hotspot on iPhone, or the hotspot/tethering settings on your Android phone.
- Set a strong password and enable sharing.
- On the second device, select the phone's hotspot Wi-Fi network and enter the password.
- Turn sharing off when finished and check the host phone's battery and data usage.
There is no separate allowance for the laptop or second phone. On a fixed 10GB plan, their traffic uses that same 10GB balance. On Unlimited, they share the daily 1GB high-speed allowance and the reduced-speed connection afterward. A laptop's software updates or cloud sync can use data in the background; pause unnecessary tasks before connecting.
Troubleshoot without deleting the eSIM first
- No mobile data: check that the travel line is enabled and selected for data, and follow the supplied roaming/APN instructions.
- Slow data: check remaining allowance, the Unlimited daily threshold, location and the number of hotspot devices.
- Hotspot connects but has no internet: first test data on the host phone, then reconnect the second device.
- Setup error: keep the eSIM profile in place and contact support before deleting it or repeatedly scanning the QR code.
