Balkans eSIM vs Europe eSIM: Which Regional Plan Fits Your Trip?

Adriatic and Alpine journey for the Balkans versus Europe eSIM guide

Quick answer

Choose the Balkans eSIM when every destination on your route appears in its 11-country list. Choose the wider Europe eSIM when the same trip also includes supported destinations such as Italy, Austria, Germany, France, Spain or the United Kingdom.

Which countries are unique to the Balkans plan?

The Balkans product lists Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia, which are not shown on the current 41-destination Europe product page. It also includes Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Romania, Slovenia and Turkey.

The Europe product covers a much broader west, north and central European route, but wider coverage does not automatically mean it covers every Balkan country. Compare the live lists rather than choosing by product name alone.

Price comparison examples

Seven-day option Balkans Europe
3GB $4.73 $3.52
10GB $12.10 $8.58
20GB $21.90 $15.32
Unlimited $27.03 $18.84

Prices checked September 15, 2026 and may change. Price alone should not decide: the plan must explicitly cover every country you will visit.

Example itineraries

A route through Albania, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Serbia fits the Balkans product. A route through Croatia, Slovenia, Italy, Austria and Germany requires the wider Europe product because Italy, Austria and Germany are outside the Balkans plan.

Crossing borders with one eSIM

Keep the eSIM installed when moving between covered countries. The profile connects through different local partners, so it may take several minutes to register after a border crossing. Airplane Mode for 15–30 seconds can refresh the connection.

Activation and fair use

Both plans should normally be installed within 90 days. Service days start when installation completes, and switching the line off does not pause them. Unlimited options normally provide 1GB high-speed data per day, followed by up to 5Mbps until reset, unless the selected plan states otherwise.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Europe plan cover every Balkan country?

No. Check the current list. Several destinations on the Balkans product are not listed on the 41-destination Europe product.

Can I change products after installation?

Do not assume conversion is possible. Purchase the product that matches the final itinerary.

Will one eSIM use the same network everywhere?

No. Partner networks vary by country and location.
