Why Does eSIM Data Stop During a Dual SIM Phone Call?

Why eSIM mobile data may stop during a Dual SIM phone call

Your EasyTripGo data may pause when you make or receive a regular call on your primary line. This can be normal Dual SIM behaviour, especially when the phone or networks cannot keep both cellular connections active for voice and data at the same time.

What happens on iPhone

iPhone uses one cellular-data network at a time. If you call on a line that is not the selected data line and Allow Cellular Data Switching is off, data may stop for the duration of the call. If switching is on, the phone may temporarily use the calling line for data.

Important roaming-charge warning

Turning on cellular-data switching can cause your home SIM to use roaming data during a call. If avoiding home-carrier charges is the priority, keep automatic switching off and accept that mobile data may pause during a carrier call.

Safer alternatives while travelling

  • Use WhatsApp, FaceTime, Telegram or another internet-calling app through the EasyTripGo data connection.
  • Use trusted Wi-Fi during a carrier call when available.
  • Check whether your home carrier supports Wi-Fi Calling and what fees apply.
  • End the call, wait a few seconds and confirm that EasyTripGo reconnects.

Samsung, Pixel and other Android phones

Behaviour varies by model, software and carrier. Open the SIM settings and confirm that EasyTripGo is selected for mobile data. Review any option called Data switching, Auto data switching or Switch mobile data automatically. Do not enable it unless you understand which line may be charged.
