Seven days is a popular length for a first trip to South Korea. It can cover Seoul with day trips, or a faster itinerary combining Seoul and Busan. Mobile data supports navigation, translation, train bookings, restaurant searches and communication throughout the week.
Which Seven-Day Plan Should You Choose?
Compare the Two South Korea eSIM Products
| Option | Data allowance | T-Money card |
|---|---|---|
| Standard South Korea eSIM — fixed data | 3GB–50GB total for the selected 3–30-day period | Not included |
| Standard South Korea eSIM — Unlimited GB | 1GB high-speed per day, then unlimited at up to 5 Mbps | Not included |
| LG U+ Unlimited Data Plan | 11GB high-speed per day, then unlimited at up to 5 Mbps; Only 4G or 5G+4G options | Eligible plans of 3 days or longer; no stored balance |
Both products are data-only, support hotspot sharing and have a 90-day installation-code validity. Installation-code validity is not the purchased service duration. Neither unlimited option promises unlimited full-speed data.
For a week with moderate data use, start by considering 10GB for 7 days. This is 10GB total, not 10GB per day. Choose a larger total allowance if your expected usage exceeds it.
Standard Unlimited GB provides 1GB of high-speed data per day before the up-to-5-Mbps FUP speed applies. The separate LG U+ plan provides 11GB per day before the same speed cap. Daily allowances are not one pooled weekly allowance.
Is Seven Days Enough for a Seven-Night Trip?
Not always. Seven nights can cover eight calendar days depending on arrival and departure times. Count every day on which you need service, including the airport transfer after arrival and the journey back to the airport.
What Can Use the Most Data?
- High-resolution video streaming and short-form video
- Automatic photo and video backup
- Laptop hotspot use and software updates
- Video meetings and large file transfers
- Several devices sharing one hotspot
Eleven gigabytes of high-speed data per day is generous for most travelers, but hotspot users should still disable automatic updates and cloud synchronization on connected devices.
Free T-Money Card
A seven-day LG U+ Unlimited Data Plan qualifies for the free T-Money card offer. Present your eSIM ICCID at a designated LG U+ airport counter. The issuance fee is waived, but the card has no stored balance. Recharge it before using the subway, buses, taxis or participating stores.
Prepare Before Departure
- Confirm that your phone supports eSIM and is unlocked.
- Choose a seven-day standard fixed-data, standard Unlimited GB or LG U+ plan based on your data needs.
- Install within 90 days of purchase using stable Wi-Fi.
- If you purchased an eligible LG U+ plan, save the ICCID for T-Money collection. The standard product does not include a card.
- When instructed, select the Korea eSIM for mobile data and disable roaming data on your home line.
Our Recommendation
Choose fixed data if you can estimate a total budget for the week. Standard Unlimited GB suits travelers comfortable with a 1GB daily high-speed allowance and reduced-speed unlimited use afterward. For heavier high-speed usage, compare the LG U+ 11GB/day options. All support hotspot sharing, which counts toward the selected allowance.
