Portugal eSIM installation and hotspot sharing

Installing your Portugal eSIM before departure gives you time to resolve setup questions while reliable Wi-Fi is available. The profile can remain on the phone until you are ready to use it, provided you follow the activation instructions supplied with the order.

Before you install

  • Confirm that the phone supports eSIM.
  • Make sure the device is carrier-unlocked.
  • Connect to stable Wi-Fi or mobile internet.
  • Open the QR code on another screen or print it.
  • Do not scan the code on a different phone by mistake.

Install on iPhone

Open Settings, choose Cellular or Mobile Service, tap Add eSIM and select Use QR Code. Scan the code and label the new line “EasyTripGo” or “Portugal.” Keep the primary SIM as the default voice line if you still need calls and messages.

Install on Android

The menu varies by manufacturer. Common paths include Settings → Connections → SIM Manager → Add eSIM, or Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs → Add eSIM. Scan the QR code and wait until the profile appears in the SIM list.

Connect after arriving in Portugal

  1. Turn on the EasyTripGo eSIM.
  2. Select it as the mobile-data or data-SIM line.
  3. Enable data roaming for the EasyTripGo line.
  4. Disable mobile data switching between SIMs.
  5. Turn airplane mode on for 30 seconds and then off.
  6. Turn off Wi-Fi and test a webpage.

The Portugal eSIM connects through Optimus Portugal and supports 5G where available, with 4G/LTE coverage in many travel areas.

Share data by hotspot

Open Personal Hotspot on iPhone or Mobile Hotspot on Android, create a secure password and connect the second device. Laptops can consume data quickly through cloud sync, video calls and software updates, so pause unnecessary background activity.

If the connection does not work

Check the selected data line and roaming setting before changing anything else. Use automatic network selection first and restart the phone if needed. Do not delete the eSIM: many QR codes cannot be reused after the profile has been removed.

Most common setup mistake: the eSIM is installed, but the primary SIM is still selected for mobile data.
