A successful travel eSIM setup has three stages: install the profile, select it for mobile data, and activate the network connection at the right time. Complete the preparation while you have stable Wi-Fi, and never delete an installed eSIM simply because it has not connected yet.

Before installing the eSIM

Confirm that your phone supports eSIM and is carrier-unlocked. Purchase the appropriate option from the EasyTripGo Hong Kong and Macau eSIM page, then follow the installation information provided with your order. Keep the QR code or activation details on another screen if you need to scan them. Label the new line “EasyTripGo” so it is easy to identify later.

Activate mobile data after arrival

Turn on the eSIM line, choose it as the phone’s mobile-data SIM, and enable data roaming for that line. Keep your primary SIM selected for calls if required, but disable data switching if you want to prevent the phone from using your home plan unexpectedly. Leave network selection on automatic and allow a few minutes for registration. Airplane mode for about 30 seconds can refresh the connection.

Using a personal hotspot

Hotspot or tethering can help connect a laptop or another phone, but availability depends on the selected plan, device settings and local network conditions. If hotspot is permitted but does not work, confirm that the travel eSIM is the active data line, restart both devices and check whether an APN was provided with the order. Streaming and laptop updates can consume data quickly, so monitor usage on fixed-data plans.
